Coastal Ridge Health Services is proud to announce that we have partnered with several universities to provide the most up to date care possible. We have graduate students and post-graduate students under the direction of Dr. Deborah Jenks, DNP that are part of our team. Over the last two years we have partnered with Liberty University, Yale University, Walden University and University of Cincinnati. Because we use students at our facility, it allows us to take more time with patient instead of rushing patients in and out quickly.
What To Expect
Initial Screening
One of our staff members will conduct a free initial screening to determine the appropriateness of your mental health care needs for our clinic and select the provider most equipped to assist you.
Psychiatric Evaluation
After completing the initial screening, if Coastal Ridge Health Services can meet your needs, then an appointment will be scheduled with a provider for a psychiatric evaluation. A Psychiatric Evaluation includes a comprehensive interview and assessment. During this appointment, the provider we go over current symptoms as well as your medical, psychiatric, social, and family history. The information collected will give the provider the information needed to determine a diagnosis or preliminary diagnosis pending additional testing if needed. Some examples of additional testing may include computer-based tests, cognitive testing, questionnaire’s, blood tests or genetic testing.
Medication Management
After your psychiatric evaluation is complete including additional testing (if recommended), you may be prescribed medication to decrease or resolve your symptoms. Many psychiatric problems are caused by underlying medical or biological problems. Medication can be a critical component of your treatment. Our providers will discuss your diagnosis with you and the reason for the medication if needed. The type of treatment recommended and why and any side effects. The provider will recommend when you should schedule a follow-up appointment to make sure the medication and other treatment recommendations are working properly for you. Based on your individualized need we may recommend services to include psychotherapy, psychological/neuropsychological testing, neurological assessment, biofeedback, or others.
